So true I own both authentic and fakes and I have LV's that have tarnished , which kind of upsets me in a way b/c I shoudn't expect from my Authentic considering their hundreds of $$$. But again that's probably a way of identifying the bags age usage.
Of course the hardware will also tarnish (patina) as anything else, if it is 3 years old and shiny, you know either someone is OCD and abuses brasso, or probably not authentic
